14TH WEEK(FINAL WEEK)

Hi fellows,
This week was our last week and we didn't do so much things.On Monday, we had a lesson with prep a in the morning and we watched 'If You Can,Catch Me'. After that, we had a lesson with Mrs Gültekin and we reviewed 'Eveline' which was an interesting story. On Tuesday, Mrs Ekizler said something about final exams and we finished the lesson.Wednesday and Thursday were holiday:) On Friday,we had a guest,Brad Horn, and he talked with us. Besides,we listened two songs; Wonderful World and Graduation Song. I know Wonderful World but I don't know the other and I like it very much.Then we did some speaking exercises and took photos with Miss Anderson. We will not see her again and I think we will miss her.This is my last post and I want to say something about this year. Firstly,I want to thank all my teachers because it was a very beneficial year for me. Sometimes we got tired,sometimes we enjoyed and also we learnt a lot of things like preparing presentations, writing our ideas in an organized way,analyzing stories and reviewing movies.Thanks to Mrs Gültekin, we had blogs and wrote whatever we did.That's all for this week and also this year.Next week is our final exam week and we must study hard so good luck,my friends.After next week, summer holiday will be waiting for us. 13TH WEEK

Hi everybody,
This week was a bit busy for me but it was enjoyable.Firstly, we had a group work on Monday so Alev,Elvan and I wrote an argumentative essay about mothers who work which was entertaining for me.On Tuesday,our friends presented the last grammar topics and we finished the grammar presentations.Then,Mrs Ekizler had given homework about American and Turkish jokes to us so Aysen,Zuhal and I wrote an essay about jokes with using appendix.On Wednesday, we all presented our homework to the class.After that we finished a unit from the listening book.On Thursday we discussed 'The Diary of Adam' which is a good short story.At first we couldn't catch up the theme but after we had talked about it, we understood the story.After the lesson we went to Ms Anderson's conference and some parts of it were interesting and fun.Finally we didn't have lesson on Friday so we were free.That's all for now.

12TH WEEK

Hi everybody,
I think this week passed fast and we did a lot of things.On Monday we learnt argumentative essay and studied on some exercises and examples of this type.Then our teacher mailed to us our subjects for argumentative essay and we wrote our essays until Thursday.On Tuesday, I didn't go to school.On Wednesday we watched all advertisements and I liked them very much.The visual effects of them were attracted me besides, I appreciate all my friends' efforts.On the other hand,chance left us alone and our advertisement had sound problems so I had to explain everything.I am so sorry for that.On Thursday,we read each other's essays and I like Sema's essay.After that we had a quiz of 'The Open Window' and we analyzed 'The Lottery'. The Lottery was a strange short story and we will have the quiz of it next week.On Friday we watched 'Groundhog day' and talked about the film and then we took a quiz. The film was boring although we laughed in some parts.Moreover there were too many repeating scenes that I sometimes wanted it to end and started to get bored with seeing the same events.The things I can say for this week are these.

11TH WEEK

Hi fellows,
This week was very busy for me.On Monday, we went on reading adolescence passages and finished the unit.Besides, we started the Classification Essay and our teacher said us to write a classification essay until Friday.By the way, I hope our teacher like our homeworks. On Tuesday, some of our friends presented their grammar presentations and after them we listened to 'Breathe Easy', and do some exercises about the song like filling the blanks. But I think those were not easy as sometimes we couldn't understand what they said in the song and couldn't catch the blanks.But I liked the song very much.Then On Wednesday, my friends wanted to study outside so Mrs. Ekizler took us to Sosyal Tesisler. In fact, we weren't willing to study so we hadn' got lesson. We had a good time with Mrs. Ekizler with talking and drinking something.On the other hand we had reading exam on Thursday and I can't say anything about whether it was easy or not. After the exam, Aysen,Zuhal and I went on studying on our advertisement. On Friday, we continued to prepare our advertisement.Our work was not only enjoyable but also sometimes frustrating. Next week we will watch all advertisements. That's all for now...

10TH WEEK

Hi friends,

This week was exhausting because we had two hard exams which were on Tuesday and Wednesday. In fact, listening exam was on Monday but there were some problems about the computer and sound system.Anyway, we went on doing exercises about cause and effect essay on Monday and our teacher seperated us to write about 17 August eartquake. Elvan,Yaşar and I wrote it and our teacher liked all groups' essays. On Tuesday and Wednesday we had grammar and listening exams and unfortunately they were difficult:( Then we read passages about adolescence and did exercises in reading class on Thursday.When we are young, we think that we know everything.Actually we learn it is wrong when we grow up. Finally on Friday, the most beautiful day of the whole week, we hadn't got lesson so we organized a picnic in Çamlık. It was very entertaining and I hadn't had so fun for a long while. I thank to all my friends for giving a nice taste to the picnic ;) On the other hand we got tired very much so I think we will have aches the next few days. That's all for now.

9th WEEK

Hi friends,
The first week after holiday was a bit dissappointing for me because we learnt our exam results. Apart from that, this week was entertaining. On Monday, our teacher wanted us to write a cause and effect essay during the lesson and there were some subjects. Zuhal and I prefered to write about insomnia and it was very enjoyable. On Tuesday, we continued our controversial topics presentations and grammar subjects and I had a presentation about confusing verbs. I tried to do my best so I hope my friends liked it. On Wednesday, we studied two units from Northstar then we talked about endangered languages on Thursday and I learnt so interesting information that I was shocked when I heard that some languages have 2-3 speakers. Think that a language's life can depends on only one person. Finally On Friday, we read a story and studied transitions for storytelling. Meanwhile my friends enjoyed during breaks by listening to musics and dancing:) Next week is our exam week again and I think I must study hard. Good works for everyone ;)

7th WEEK

Hi friends;

This week was not tiring and boring but Tuesday is stressful. On Monday we learnt cause and effect essay and did some exercises. I think it was a bit difficult because it can be mixed with process esssay. While writing the causes of a subject, we sometimes can make mistakes. Then we presented our presentation about women's rights which was stressful for us on Tuesday. We tried to make good things but I think it was boring because of the historical events. But we had to show the events. On Wednesday was presentation day again and my friends presented great subjects on Tuesday and Wednesday.Also I celebrate all of my friends and thanks for interesting information :) After that, we read passages about mind,body and health. Stress causes to a lot of cruel illnesses and it has bad effects on the whole body. On Friday we didn't have lessons and next week is holiday. I hope you will have a good time :)

6th WEEK

Hi everyone

As I said last week, this week was our exam week. We had two exams on Monday, writing and listening exams. They were difficult and sometimes I couldn't understand what did people in video say in listening exam.Then we had a grammar exam on Tuesday and I couldn't decide whether it was easy or not. We didn't have lesson on Wednesday actually we had but we want our teacher to cancel the lesson. On Wednesday I studied for reading exam and tried to memorize some words. Reading exam was hard and ıt was a bit confusing. The exams eventually finished and on Friday we watched Shrek 2. It was very entertaining and I can say we felt comfortable after the exams. But after the movie we had a film quiz and discussed about Shrek but it was not hard. Next week we are representing our power point presentations and I think this weekend invites us to be creative. :(

5th WEEK

Hi friends,
We began by reading 'Gender and Sexuality' passages in this week. These passages include very interesting things about girls and boys.The two gender are completely different from each other even if they are newborn.We studied 'comparison and contrast essay' again and did some exercises. Then we learnt a lot of clothing, animal, colour and food idioms and in fact their meanings are different from the words' real meanings. We were divided into four groups and prepared sentences and then tried to tell the meanings of idioms with these sentences.It was very enjoyable.After that we watched Armageddon and discussed about the film and America's desire of leadership.This film was good in terms of phrases and everyday language components but I didn't like it very much.We read essays about fairy tales and gender lessons at school. Mrs Gülsen wanted us to write short fairy tales and while writing, we really enjoyed.Lastly, Ms Rebecca had Nasreddin Hodja stories for us.Besides we created new stories and dialogs from a Nasreddin Hodja story. It is an amusing work for us. That's all for this week. We have exams next week and this week was not tiring but I think this weekend will be tiring.I hope everything will go well. :)

4th WEEK

Hi everyone

This week was not as hard as previous ones but tiring for us. We presented our interviews which we made with people who are interested in extreme sports. Some of my classmates read theirs in the class and Mrs Fulden liked them. We studied 'Fertility Now' from Hot Topics and learnt interesting things.Then Mrs Gülsen taught to us the two types of comparison and contrast essay, one of the types is point by point method and the other is block method. We did some exercises to reinforce.In listening class a difficult quiz was ready for us because we couldn't understand completely what were said. I also have to do some listening exercises to develop my skills. Lastly on Friday we watched Shrek in speaking class and it was a comfortable day for us. Even though I watched it before , I laughed a lot and I also like watching in the class.Now we have homework about comparison and contrast essay.

THIRD WEEK...

Hi fellows
This week was very tiring but enjoyable.We had presentations about crimes and punishments. There were seven groups and our group's subject was Elizabethan Era's crime and punishment. While we were preparing our presentation we had also some difficulties.At first it came to us it was very hard work. But when we started to search something and find some information from the sites Ms Gülsen offered and some historical sites,we thought it might not be very hard.For me the most difficult part was presenting it to my friends because I was greatly excited and sometimes I couldn't talk. Sorry for that:( Moreover I like my friends' presentations and musics.Thanks to these presentations we learnt a lot of interesting things about past periods and also working in a group.Making an agreed desicion in a group and preparing good jobs are very important.I want to congratulate all my friends:) Then we watched Night at the Museum 2 . We laughed while watching ,especially I like the Egyptian king Kahmunrah's talking.It was perfectly funny. We listened Jewel' s Hands song.I like it.Watching films and listening songs are useful and enjoyable methods of learning pronounciation and phrases:) That's all for now.

PAPI

My name is Papi and I am a two year old,male,golden retriever dog. Humans think that animals can't think but we can. Animals also think and try to understand the life. Sometimes we witness important events but we couldn't talk.Now, I want to talk about my family.When I was at a pet shop, Özlem came and she wanted to buy me. Later we went home together. I like all family members but Özlem's mother doesn't like dogs very much.Day by day I and Özlem started to get used to each other. One day, we went on a picnic all together on Sunday. We had a good time, Özlem and I were running. She felt tired. When we came back home, they watched television a bit then they said good night to me and went to bed at eleven p.m.I couldn't sleep because I was feeling bad things but I couldn't know what would happen. It was one a.m.Suddenly I heard a noise, someone opened the window. I hid behind the armchair. The man came to living room and put some valuable things into his bag.I ran towards him and started to bark.He hit the vase to my head then I passed out.When I woke up, it was morning. Özlem was near me and they were talking about the events happened last night with policemen. I learnt Özlem's mother came for my barking but she saw the man while he was escaping .She couldn't remember his face completely. We all went to the police office. A policeman gave to Özlem's mother a lot of photos but she couldn't decide which was the man. Then I saw the man's photo. I pulled Özlem's t-shirt with my mouth. I took her near the table and barked to the photo and put my hand on it. Özlem understood what I tried to tell, she explained to the police that I was there last night.The police caught the man in the photo.He confessed his fault then my family took the stolen goods back. When we came home Özlem said to me 'thank you'. I will be more careful from now on.

Hi everybody
This week Ms Gulsen taught us opinion essay and we read reality shows passages from Hot Topics.We wrote opinion essays about reality shows.We watched Slumdog Millionaire in listening class.I like it very much because it is a very different film then we had the film's quiz.We learn new things about blogs thanks to Metin.On Friday, Ms Rebecca didn't come so we didn't have lesson. We all went to Çamlık and we played with ball. That day was very enjoyable but I couldn't say the same things for the weekend.I had bone aches and I think my friends also had:) That's all about this week.
